Stinger Unleashed Takes Home More Hardware In Harrington
July 28, 2018
It was a hot and humid Friday night at the Delaware State Fair in Harrington, but that didn’t stop the fans from packing the grandstands to see some monster truck action.
Rettew Motorsports made their presence known right off the bat with Zane Rettew walking Stinger Unleashed across the cars to take home the wheelie competition win, while teammate Paul Strong would put Master of Disaster in third place.
In racing, mechanical issues would sideline Rettew. Strong was able to advance from the first round of racing into the 3rd place race, however a slick spot on the track would send the Master of Disaster too deep into the turn, allowing rookie Nick Pagliarulo in Kraken to take the win.
In freestyle, Master of Disaster would be second in the line-up. After Kraken set the pace, Strong made his best effort to best the run before his. Big air, cross-threads, and a combination move over the boat into a save over the van stack would get the crowd on its feet, but was only good enough to put Master of Disaster in second place.
The final freestyle of the night was set to be Zane Rettew in Stinger Unleashed, however he and Matt Pagliarulo (Jester) had plans of their own. When Jester pulled onto the track and began to freestyle, Rettew also pulled out of his pit stall and began creeping closer and closer to the track. Jester made a few more hits before driving off the track, toward Stinger Unleashed, enticing Rettew to come out and play. Both drivers then went on a tirade; move after move, in a train-style two-truck freestyle finale The biggest air of the night from Jester, an incredible sidewall save from Stinger Unleashed, and two boats completely obliterated on the track are just some of the highlights from the epic dual freestyle.
When the dust finally settled, both Rettew and Matt Pagliarulo agreed to withdrawal themselves from freestyle, meaning Kraken would get the win, and Paul Strong would take home second place for Rettew Motorsports.
We’re already excited to go back to Harrington next year, as it has become one of our favorite stops each year!
